Welcome to APS Masonry
Our up to date stone yard, where computerised stone cutting and profiling equipment supplements traditional hand crafted stonemasonry skills, is geared to high volume production of quality-finished limestone. The technology lends itself particularly well to repetitive tasks, from the cutting of hundreds of cubic metres of limestone ashlar blocks for the shell of a new stately home, to the cutting and engraving of hundreds of commemorative paperweights – with everything in between, including cills, copings, finials, flooring and stairs.
The very same technology is also able to produce one-off pieces from clients’ drawings or to scan an existing piece and produce an identical copy, to be skilfully hand finished by our apprentice trained banker masons. Such pieces could include anything from garden sculpture to a replacement corbel.
One of the great charms of the UK lies in the use throughout the ages of local stone as a construction material. Of all the regional variations, Cotswold stone is very highly regarded and specified in building construction today.
We have supplied our dry walling stone to a number of prestigious landscape projects nationally. Dry stone walls exude a distinct distinct character and create a traditional visual reference point. The art of stone walling remains as ever popular,
Our Natural Riven York Stone paving is a natural product with texture and colour determined by millennia of geological processes rather than modern chemical dyes.
